MailMergic vs YAMM: common questions
Can YAMM create personalized PDFs from a template?
No. YAMM sends the email you drafted in Gmail and attaches files that already exist. Its personalized-attachment feature takes Google Drive links from a column of your sheet, or matches files in a Drive folder to rows by an ID in the file name. The documents themselves come from another tool.
Does MailMergic send through Gmail like YAMM does?
Yes, since August 2026. Connect your Gmail or Google Workspace account with one send-only permission and the emails go out from your own address, with replies in your inbox. Per campaign you can also send from a MailMergic address, through an SMTP server or from your own verified domain.
What are the sending limits?
YAMM limits recipients per 24 hours by plan and account: 20 on the free plan, 400 on Pro from a personal @gmail.com account (100 when the emails carry personalized attachments), 1,500 on Pro from a Google Workspace account on your own domain, always within Google’s own caps. Through Gmail, MailMergic is bound by the same Google caps (about 500 emails per day on a personal account, about 2,000 on Workspace) and pauses cleanly at the limit; its other sending routes have no mailbox cap.
Is YAMM bad? Should I avoid it?
No. It is the most installed mail merge add-on on the Google Workspace Marketplace, rated 4.7 of 5 by more than 18,000 users. It does a different job than a document generation tool, and some teams use both.
