What's the difference between Email-only mail merge and PDF mail merge?
PDF mail merge generates a personalized PDF and optionally emails it as an attachment. Email-only mail merge sends just the personalized email itself, no generated document. Use PDF mail merge when the file is the deliverable. Use Email-only when the message in the email body is the deliverable.
Can I send from my own email domain?
Yes, three ways: use MailMergic's shared sending domain with no setup, send from your own verified domain with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC support, or connect your own SMTP server. Recipients see your sender name and domain regardless of which method you choose.
How is this different from Mailchimp, Brevo, or ConvertKit?
MailMergic is built for personalized, individual emails sent from a spreadsheet. Tools like Mailchimp and Brevo are marketing automation platforms with audience management, campaign analytics, A/B testing, and template builders. If you need ongoing marketing campaigns with subscriber management and segmentation, those are better tools. If you need to send personalized emails from a spreadsheet without setting up a marketing platform, MailMergic is faster.
How do I insert personalized fields in my subject and body?
Type the @ character anywhere in the subject or body, and a picker opens showing the columns from your spreadsheet. Click a column name (or use arrow keys and Enter) to insert it. For example, type @ and pick "First Name" to insert that recipient's first name where you typed. Merge fields work in both subject and body.
Can I send rich-text emails or just plain text?
Rich text. The editor supports bold, italic, links, bullet lists, headings, and inline images. The full HTML email is sent to recipients.
Can I attach a file even with Email-only mail merge?
Yes. If you want to send the same attachment (a PDF guide, a contract, a static document that's identical for every recipient) along with personalized email content, you can attach it once and it goes to every recipient with their personalized email body. For per-recipient personalized attachments, use PDF, Word, or Excel-to-Excel mail merge instead and enable email delivery in the Send step.
How many emails can I send in one batch?
Up to 100,000 recipients per merge run, with a 25 MB maximum file size for your recipient list.
What about deliverability and Gmail's send limits?
MailMergic sends through Mailgun infrastructure, not through your Gmail or Outlook account. There's no Gmail-style daily send limit. For best deliverability on high-volume sends, use a verified custom domain with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC configured.
Can I preview each email before sending?
Yes. After mapping merge fields, step through your recipient list and see each personalized email rendered exactly as the recipient will see it. Preview both subject and body. This catches missing data or formatting issues before they reach inboxes.
How does pricing work?
Email-only mail merge is available on Pro and Enterprise plans. One credit per email sent. A merge sending 100 personalized emails uses 100 credits. The Pro plan includes a generous monthly credit allowance for typical operational email volumes; the Enterprise plan adds higher volumes, verified custom domain sending, SMTP support, and dedicated support.
