MailMergic Features You Might Have Missed: Fonts, Snapping and More

by Meelika Kivi · Customer Support

Some of the most useful parts of MailMergic are small. They don’t get a landing page, but they decide whether placing fields on a template takes five minutes or twenty. Here are six of them in one place.

Use your own fonts

If your template uses a brand font, upload it once and use it for any field. Select a placeholder in the editor, open the font picker and click Upload font. TrueType (.ttf) and OpenType (.otf) files work. Your own fonts appear at the top of the list, and the small trash icon next to a font removes it again.

Snap placeholders into line

When you drag a placeholder near another one, it snaps to its edges. That keeps columns of fields, such as name, address and date, neatly aligned without measuring.

Move placeholders pixel by pixel

For the last bit of precision, select a placeholder and use the arrow keys. Each press moves it one pixel, which is the easiest way to line text up with a printed line or a box on a form.

Password-protected PDFs

A PDF template that is protected with a password doesn’t have to be unlocked elsewhere first. Upload it and MailMergic asks for the password. You can also go the other way and give every generated PDF its own password, for example a customer number, so each recipient can open only their own document.

Find your way back

The bar at the top of each page shows where you are and which file you’re working on. Click any part of it to go back a step.

A free plan, and yearly billing

The Always-Free plan lets you generate 100 documents a month, with a watermark and without a credit card. If you need more, the paid plans can be billed monthly or yearly. You can switch between the two in Billing & invoices, and the functionality is the same either way. See the current plans on the pricing page.
