An Avery 5366 sheet of 30 file folder labels filled from a spreadsheet

Avery 5366 holds thirty file folder labels of 3 7/16" by 2/3", two across and fifteen down. They fit the tab of a standard letter or legal folder, which is why offices, accountants, law firms and school offices go through them by the box.

Folder labels come from a list almost by definition: every client, every case, every student, every year. This template prints the folder name in bold with a second, smaller line for details such as the year or the document type, so the list you keep in Excel becomes a sheet of matching labels.

Avery 5366 questions

Does this template work for Avery 8366 and 5066?

Yes. 8366 is the inkjet version of the same sheet, and 5066 shares the layout with colored bars: thirty labels of 3 7/16" by 2/3".

Can I leave out the second line?

Yes. Leave the Details column empty, or leave it out of your list, and the label prints the folder name alone.

In what order do the labels print?

In the order of your list: row 1 on the top-left label, then across and down, sheet after sheet. Sort the list in Excel first, for example by last name, and the labels come out ready to file.

Why are my labels a little off?

Almost always the print dialog. Set the scale to Actual size or 100%, not Fit to page or Shrink to fit, and choose the paper size the sheet is made for. Print the first page on plain paper and hold it against a label sheet in front of a window before you use real labels.

What happens on the last sheet?

The rows that are left fill the first labels of a new sheet, and the rest of that sheet stays blank. A list of 75 addresses on a 30-label sheet gives two full sheets and one with 15 labels.

Is it free?

You can try every label sheet without signing up. On the free plan each printed sheet carries a MailMergic watermark, and a paid plan removes it. See pricing.
