Gmail and Yahoo are releasing new email sender requirements this February. Please understand that these policy changes from Gmail and Yahoo are beyond our control. However, we are committed to assisting you through this transition to ensure uninterrupted email delivery.
Changes effective January 28, 2024:
Who does this affect?
These changes affect you if:
(1) You send emails using the Email Verification method from a Gmail or Yahoo sender address
and / or
(2) You send emails using the Email Verification method to a Gmail or Yahoo recipient address
Who does this not affect?
You are not affected if:
- You do not send emails using MailMergic
- You send emails using the SMTP or DNS verification method
What happens if you are affected?
All emails that involve Gmail or Yahoo on either the sending or receiving side will now be sent from an address like
instead of the original sender address
This change is being made to ensure successful delivery of your messages. Without this change, emails will be rejected by Gmail and Yahoo mail servers or placed in spam folders. Your name will still be seen as a sender, e.g.:
All emails that don’t involve Gmail or Yahoo will continue to be sent using your original sender address until March 31, 2024.
Will I still get email responses from recipients?
Yes, the reply-to field of all emails will be set to your existing sender address, meaning you will still be able to receive all responses.
What should I do if I don’t want to send emails from a mailmergic.com address?
If you prefer to continue using an address such as [email protected], we strongly recommend setting up a new sender using the SMTP or DNS verification method to ensure a seamless and secure email delivery process.
Kindly note that due to the upcoming policy changes, we will no longer have the technical capability to send emails on your behalf using a Gmail or Yahoo email address.
Changes effective March 31, 2024:
It’s important to note that regardless of whether you are affected by category (1) or (2), many email providers are implementing increasingly stringent authentication measures. Unfortunately, our current delivery method used by MailMergic does not provide this required authentication.
Who does this affect?
The 2nd phase will include all senders using the Email Verification method, regardless if you use Gmail, Yahoo or your own company email address.
